Welcome to my blog! Today’s post is going to be on blog photography prop ideas.  When I create flat-lay photography for my Instagram or my blog, I usually want to make my photos pop, or have an extra something in them. So, I like to use a prop to take up any space that is in my picture, and also just to add a pop of color or texture to my picture.  Now, here are a few of my favorite props to use in my pictures!

  • Blankets

Blankets, rugs, sheets etc, are great for adding a little texture into your photos.  I use a white faux fur rug , as a background, and a prop.

  • Stationary

I collect a lot of affordable office supplies and cute stationary, so I like to use them in my photography, just to add a little “pizazz” to my photo.  Anything from pens, to pencils, washi tape, and planners, those are the few things you can use, to decorate your pictures.  Some of my favorite stationary brands are, Ban.do, Kate Spade, and Me and My Big Ideas.

  • Accessories

Gold, Rose Gold/ Copper (whatever you wan to call it), Silver, any accessory that you have, can be used in your photos.  Jewelry and accessories, are probably one of the most commonly used props  in flat-lays.

  • Books

I have so many books; coffee table books, interior design books, biographies, fictional books, comics, and so much more,  I probably have an issue.  Moving on, since I have so many books, I use them in my pictures so that I can add a more relaxing/natural feel to my picture.

  • Confetti

One fun way, to take up any extra space in a picture, is by using confetti!  Not everyone has confetti or sparkles, unless you do a lot of DIY’s 🙂 You can easily make your own confetti, by using a hole puncher, to make small circles/shapes in colorful scrapbook paper.

Before you try to purchase any of these items, search for any products that you already have in your home.  If you don’t have any of these items, be creative! Search for any items you want to incorporate in your picture, and try to recreate/DIY them.
